About the role
The public sector is an important domain, offering unique dynamics and opportunities. We are looking for someone who understands this market, possesses a network within government and helps shaping the commercial direction to establish sustainable partnerships with public institutions.
As Public Services Director, you guide the commercial approach within the public sector. You ensure that this tech enabled marketing agency attracts the right projects and tenders, responds successfully to them and builds long-term relationships with government clients.
Your Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy: You work together with the Commercial Director to define the commercial strategy for the public sector in Belgium (Federal and Flemish level).
- Market Positioning: You position them strongly in the market through marketing initiatives, events and thought leadership aimed at public institutions.
- Business Development: You proactively pursue new opportunities and tenders, identifying and qualifying suitable bids to ensure they are involved from the outset.
- Tender Management: You collaborate closely with bid managers from their sales desk to formulate high-quality, winning responses to tenders.
- Relationship Management: You manage contacts with large accounts within the public sector and deepen existing collaborations.
- Reporting: You report directly to the Commercial Director and work with the broader commercial team.
About you
- + 5 years’ experience in the public sector in Belgium, preferably within an agency or consultancy context.
- You are familiar with the dynamics of tendering, possess in-depth knowledge of procurement law and understand how to successfully position organisations in an RFP process.
- You combine strategic insight with a hands-on mentality: you think ahead but do not hesitate to take action yourself.
- You have a strong network within the public sector and know how to use it constructively.
- You are entrepreneurial, results-oriented and able to enthuse others about your approach.
